My research is centered on environmental economics, with related work in energy economics, natural resource economics, and applied economics. I combine causal inference and machine learning with economic theory to study environmental governance, regulatory incentives, and how institutions measure and monitor behavior. Across these settings, I am interested in how people and organizations respond when rules, incentives, or information change.
In the classroom, I connect economics, data science, and generative AI. Students combine data visualization with machine learning and econometrics to address questions in business strategy, public policy, and individual decision-making. My goal is to help students think critically and build rigorous analytical skills they can use on real-world problems.
